I am a 10th-grade ELA classroom. I recently graduated with a degree in Secondary English Education with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL).
I chose to become a teacher because of the impact school had on me. I had many teachers who inspired me and supported me through the ups and downs of growing up. I want to create that same caring environment for my future students, particularly students in urban schools or students with English as a second language. Teachers often see the potential that students struggle to notice within themselves. I want to share my love of English, reading, and writing and the power of communication with all my students. I want them to know that regardless of what country they come from or who they are, their voice matters. My favorite aspects of being a teacher are working with students, learning about them, getting to know them as learners and people, and sharing my passion for literature.
