I have taught keyboarding and computers kindergarten thru 7th grade for 10 years. I have written my own curriculum during that time for all grades. I have taught Microsoft Office 2003, 2007 and currently am teaching 2010. The applications I teach are Excel, Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
My curriculum is project based. I teach one project in each of the Microsoft Office applications in each school year so one project is designed to last 9 weeks with your class meeting once a week. My projects are theme based and often go along with current events. Some themes that I have taught include weather, government and elections and the Olympics. The beauty of my curriculum is that students learn computer skills along with researching the theme of the project. My lessons plans are very detailed so that no computer experience is needed to teach my projects.
