I teach elementary science to grades Pre-K through 5 and absolutely love it. I am also a district STEAM coach, which allows me to mentor and provide support to other science teachers in the district. I have taught graduate courses in childhood education in the area of science to help the next generation of teachers become prepared for this profession. I focus on creating activities that incorporate literacy and other subject areas into science. I have presented at the SCONYC science conference and attend the NSTA science conferences each year (which I love to do) to keep up to date in the educational world of science. I have also taught art to kindergarten and continue to teach guided reading with struggling students with a focus on reading intervention. In addition, I teach an after school science club!
Hands-on learning!!! I create opportunities for students to record their findings and further investigate what they have learned. My lessons are differentiated to build on the strengths of all different types of learners. I want my students to have fun with what they are learning!
