Hey I'm Lovie, well that's what my family and friends call me so I guess you will to! LaVonda Gray is a passionate scholar After graduating with a Bachelor in Exceptional Student Education, LaVonda worked in the education system to provide support for individuals with emotional and behavior disabilities in their least restrictive setting. During this time, she worked closely with adolescents and parents to create curricula to bridge the academic and social emotional gap in an effort to provide families with the foundational skills needed to thrive. LaVonda also partnered with Broward County Schools on their Educational Equity project, which helped to build a framework for equity in schools by breaking barriers with courageous conversations. Her previous academic positions include Life Skills Instructor at the International School of Health, Outpatient Therapist at chrysalis Health, and Mental Health First Aid Responder at Broward County Public Schools. Thereafter LaVonda went on to complete her Master of Arts in Psychology. This presented her the opportunity to treat individuals who suffer from mental illness holistically with the use of traditional and alternative techniques. She is a member of the National Alliance of Mental Illness, National Educator Association, and Association for Psychological Science. LaVonda continues to support the community with her Action Journal series. Which allows individuals to focus on their internal experiences, thoughts and feelings. With her passion for helping others LaVonda will continue to educate individuals on methods of self-care and mental health support techniques, while fostering stronger communities.
