I am a National Board Certified teacher in English Language Arts for Adolescent Young Adults.I have taught nearly every course provided in grades 9-12, including both honors and basic skills courses. I spent considerable time teaching college prep courses as well as skill development courses coaching students to create portfolios as an alternate assessment for the Washington state exam. I also contracted with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) on state assessments. I scored the state writing assessment, wrote state prompts, created training materials for scorers, and scored the alternate assessments called COEs. In 2008 I became a National Board Certified Teacher, qualifying me to teach in almost every state in the nation! I also spent two years working for Ashford University as an online writing instructor.
In the classroom I connect each lesson to student interest. I find student ownership is the key. I teach students skills and empower them to drive their own educational journey.

I joined TpT in 2015. When I first started teaching, I wished and wished for a resource like TpT. Now my goal is to add the successful curriculum I developed to my TpT store so others don't need to recreate the wheel. My store is growing quickly so please follow me for updates when I post new products! .
