I have been teaching for 16 years. During this time I have been lucky enough to have taught every grade level from kindy to year 6 and every subject including Math, English, Sport and even French! I don't even speak French but that's a story for another day. I have had a huge amount of roles which include class teacher, literacy specialist, specialist teacher, Behaviour Management Leader, Head of Teaching and Learning and Language Development Centre teacher.
It's like the amazing Rita Pierson said "Kids can't learn from a teacher they don't like." I consider myself to have a strong ability to form positive relationships with students, including the tricky ones. I am happy when my classroom is happy, peaceful and full of laughter.
Although not an official honour- it was truly an honour when I left a recent posting, one of my students (who happened to have ASD) organised a protest at recess to prevent me leaving. That was a moment I will never forget.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education and a partially completed Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
