I have been teaching for 23 years. I have taught pre-kindergarten, 2nd and 3rd grade. I have been an ECSE autism teacher for the past 14 years in Chicago Public Schools.
I enjoy creating a structured classroom environment so students can succeed! I combine classroom technology with hands on activities to reach all learning styles. My classroom has large and small group instruction, as well as one to one instruction and work stations to teach students to use structured tasks. Children are taught to transition using transition objects or picture schedules.

I have a degree in education from the University of St. Francis in Joliet. I have gone back to school to earn a certificate in Early Childhood education, an approval for early childhood special education and am currently working on a bilingual certificate. I just received an endorsement in ELL.
I love my job! I am lucky to work at a superior Chicago Public Special Education school. I have two of my own children and have been married for 19 years.
