TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught 7th and 8th grade science in Phoenix for 3 years, and 4th-6th grade science in Chicago for 4 years. I am currently a Director of Science Instruction, writing NGSS-aligned curriculum for grades K-8 and supporting teachers in creating NGSS aligned lesson plans for a school network.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love breaking down difficult scientific concepts into smaller chunks that students can understand. I often incorporate multiple ways for students to gather information about the world around them through experiments, videos, texts, and diagrams. I aspire to include real world problems and have students assume the role of scientists in my lessons.
