I'm currently teaching credit recovery, and secondary English. I also teach Science with a specialization in Physics.
I TALK to my students. I greet them everyday at the door as the enter, and exchange words with them as they exit. In those five minutes before class and as they get ready to leave I make conversation with them: “Anyone doing something exciting this weekend?” “How are you liking the novel so far?” “Did anyone hear about such-and-such on the news last night?” These simple conversations allow me to get to know my students as individuals, and really help build valuable relationships with my students. I am often complimented by my colleagues for the “family” environment in my classroom. I credit this simple action of talking to my students for building that dynamic.

I have a B.A. from York University and my B.Ed from Western University.
In addition to teaching, I coach competitive gymnastics several times a week. I thoroughly enjoy coaching and see it as an extension of my teaching. This is my 10th year coaching.
