TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 7 years as both a special education resource teacher, and a self-contained teacher. I have taught just about every subject, hence the store name. Currently I team 8th grade, and co-teach with general education teachers in literacy, pre-algebra, science, and history. I love my job!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to think I have a laidback, but authoritative style. I rarely have discipline problems, and I don't believe that is because I am threatening, but I lay the groundwork for the behavioral expectations from the start. I like doing real-life projects with authentic results, rather than worksheets. I have learned a great deal on what it means to be a great teacher from my colleagues, and feel that my style emulates each of them when I am in their classrooms.
