I have been teaching high school Spanish since 2007. I teach levels 1-4. Level 4 is a concurrent enrollment course at a local university.
A mixture of everything. I have taken the leap and thrown out the textbook. I am dedicated to teaching "Real-world" Spanish to get students ready for travel or work experiences. I fell in love with Can-Do statements a couple years ago and now keep them and proficiency in forefront of my mind when I'm designing classroom material. I want students to be performing, doing, and communicating because that's what languages are about!
None YET.
I earned my undergrad in Spanish teaching in 2006 and in 2010, I earned my masters degree in education.
I have lead four student tours to Spanish-Speaking Countries and I try to take those experiences and treat them as continuing education opportunities since they help me out immensely in the classroom.
