TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching Social Studies courses for the past 9 years at the high school level. I teach Government, AP Government, and U.S. History, but I have also taught Economics in the past. I have also been a Mock Trial advisor for the past 6 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science, as well as a Clear CA Secondary Social Science Teaching Credential. I have had an overall 98% passing rate in my AP Government class and love to see my students succeed!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I implement a variety of teaching strategies in my classroom. I use a combination of lecture and hands-on strategies. My students work individually and in groups, take notes and do collaborative projects, listen, but also discuss. I believe in mixing it up in the classroom and reaching a variety of learners.

I have a BA in History and Political Science, as well as a clear California Secondary Teaching Credential in Social Sciences. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Counseling and a PPS Counseling Credential.

In addition to teaching, I have a great passion for helping students with college and career exploration. I have also developed a great passion for photography and traveling. I have opened up a custom category specifically for stock photos and background images in my store. I am featuring images of countries and landmarks around the world, as well as other images teachers may find useful in their classroom, such as nature, transportation, and school themed photos.
