I have worked in Wake county public schools for 4 years and have taught advanced biology and earth science. I have been a presenter at the NCSTA conference for three years and have participated in the Franklin Academy ipad conference in Raleigh. This year I was a trainer for the Duke Fellow's program in education. Before that, I was a geneticist with the NIH.
We are a 1:1 ipad school so we believe in incorporating technology into every lesson. I also believe in having student guided laboratory to allow for students to understand that science is a process of learning instead of just an attempt at memorization.
In 2013 I was the winner of the 'outstanding teacher' award for North Carolina.
I have a BS in biology from Georgia Tech and an MS in genetic engineering from Georgia Tech.
