I have taught visual art in a public, urban high school since 2001. I teach a diverse population of students and have been blessed to see many of them grow to be productive citizens and amazing artists! I have taught art education in post secondary and in museum setting also.
I am excited to share my passion and interest in art, art history, and world culture with my students! The technique I employ is to present to my students art techniques tied with art history. I present a problem for them to solve in their own way. I like students to make their own interpretation and solution to a presented question, so the student projects will show many different interpretations. I enjoy encouraging individuality and helping students create their own vision and stye. In addition, I have a keen interest in world cultures and try to integrate that in many of my lessons .
