I am 2nd grade teacher in the heart of Chicago. My experience prior to this year was in first grade, which I had taught for 8 years. First graders grow so much over the course of the school year and second graders have taught me so much about independence and growth.
I love hands on activities that allow students to problem solve and work with each other. I also love being organized while encouraging creativity. Knowing if my students are understanding the material being taught is very important (hence the 2nd Grade Exit Slips being the first product I made to sell on TPT).
I have led professional development sessions in guided reading, small-group math instruction, balanced literacy, and lesson study for my current and previous schools.
