I taught for 19 years. I taught in either 2nd grade or 3rd grade for my entire teaching career.

I loved teaching third grade! I tried to set high expectations and push kids to reach their potential through hard work and engaging activities.

There are so many moments that stand out for me, however, my favorite teacher memories revolve around reading. Specifically, the joy reading aloud brought to both me and to my students. From selecting the next perfect book for my class, to listening to students laugh, or gasp, or even cry at appropriate moments in the book... these are the memories I cherish most. So many of my students remember our read alouds and the ways our classes bonded over great books!

I have a degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. I taught for 19 years (14 years at the same elementary school that I attended as a child).

I am a wife and mother to 2 strong, independent girls. My oldest daughter works in digital marketing and my youngest daughter is a college softball coach. We also have 4 dogs (all rescues)! My dog Stringbean is the inspiration for my logo! Logo Components Created by Laine Sutherland
