I have been teaching since 1994 in a variety of educational settings. My career began as an ESL teacher in Japan for 3 years, and since then I have worked as a facilitator at ITI (Information Technology Institute), a post secondary institution for adults preparing for a career in IT. Since 2004 I have worked at a private school (4-12) for students with learning and behavioural disabilities.
I am a huge proponent of collaborative, project based learning. I try to give students work that they find both challenging and interesting. I am a guide, not an expert, and believe that students learn best when using their imagination and finding the answers to their own questions.
