This school year, 2017-2018 marks my 15th year teaching! I spend the first years of my career teaching 3rd grade in Georgia. Being born and raised in Georgia, I decided it was time to experience another part the country. So I moved to Colorado. I taught a 3rd grade Gifted Education inclusion class for 7 years and loved it! I then moved back to the south to be near my family. I have been teaching 3rd and 4th grade in Nashville since 2015.
My teaching style is student centered. I make every effort to integrate science and social studies content into my reading instruction. I want my students to learn how to really think and problem solve! My favorite lessons are those that include gifted and talented strategy lessons. These types of lessons benefit all students.
