I've had the pleasure of teaching at the same school for seven years. I started my teaching career team teaching in second grade, where I taught math and science. After spending three years in second grade, I made the transition down to first grade. While teaching first grade for three years, I loved getting to see students make so much progress in reading. In 2019, I started my first year teaching kindergarten.
My teaching style has definitely evolved over the last few years. I teach the best when I'm given the flexibility to tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs of my students. I love getting to provide students with hands on learning opportunities that allow students to discover their interests. Students in my class get to take charge and develop their own love of learning.
• In May 2018, I had the pleasure of presenting Flexible Seating 101 to inspire teachers to start flexible seating on a budget.
• In August 2019, I wrote a featured publication in the magazine Voyage Dallas. In my post, I describe how I started my Teachers Pay Teachers store and what it means to me.
In May 2013, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my bachelors in Elementary Education with a focus in math and science.
