Chalk Dust and Dreams

I have been an educator for many years. Teaching is my passion! I have taught grades K - 6, served as a media specialist, and a curriculum specialist. I worked as the Director of Research and Accountability for my system. Today I am a School Improvement Specialist and work with teachers in all grade levels and all subjects. After all, best practice is best practice regardless of the content.

I teach with rigor and relevance in order to actively engage students in learning. I research best practices and use my training as a reading specialist to create products that are engaging and hold students accountable. I have found success when hiding the content behind a bit of fun. I work hard to get parents involved, and consciously create a culture of kindness.

Being nominated by my peers as Teacher of the Year twice is my most valued accomplishment. Students remember two teachers; the one they hate and the one they love. I strive to be the one they love. I am blessed to have maintained lifelong friendships with many of my former students. As they say, "In my class for a year, in my heart forever."

BA in Social Sciences, MEd in Elementary Education, certified Reading Specialist, MS in Instructional Technology, EdS in Educational Leadership, and EdD in Educational Data Analysis. My background gives me the ability to analyze the data, determine where the problem(s) are, and develop specific interventions to remedy the problem(s).

I work as a School Improvement Specialist. I love spending time in classrooms and I am blessed to be doing work that I love. My reward is seeing positive change for children. I love TPT! Whether I am helping a self-contained 2nd grade teacher, a middle school science teacher, or a high school drama teacher, I can find great resources to help me help them. I appreciate the sellers who are willing to share.
