I taught gifted and talented students for 30 years in Shelby County Schools and retired in May of 2017. After retiring, I taught fifth grade Language Arts and Social Studies in a private school for two years. Now, I substitute at that school. I also give ghost tours downtown for Historical Haunts in Memphis. I am an aspiring author who has been published in AppleSeeds Magazine, which is a part of the Cricket family and have many home written close read stories in my store.
I enjoy making and presenting lessons via Promethean Board flipcharts and have quite a few homemade charts, which I have transferred to power point. I always aim for higher level thinking and questioning.
• I retired as a Level 5 teacher on a five point scale. • My students consistently won the Memphis in May Writing contest each year. • My best awards come in the form of hugs and homemade cards telling me I'm great!
