Carol Troutman Wiggins is a graduate of Queens University in Charlotte, NC with a BA Degree in Choral/Sacred Music/Piano Pedagogy. She was a K-12 music teacher and Minister of Music for 35 years where she served as director of adult, children’s and handbell choirs & Praise Team/Band Director. She taught private/studio voice and piano lessons. A member of ASCAP, Carol is an internationally published freelance music composer of children's songs for educational music curriculum with the Fun Music Co in Adelaide, S. Australia. Carol's teaching philosophy can be summed up in this ancient Chinese proverb: ""Tell me, and I will forget. Show me, and I may remember. Involve me, and I will understand." Taking a hands-on approach to teaching music, Carol believes in involving the mind, body and soul when teaching a song. In addition to teaching the notes and lyrics to the music, visuals, instruments, props, and actions encourage the children to understand the songs from many different levels. Carol has taught K-12 choir/chorus, band, & music theory; 2nd & 3rd grade classroom; 5th & 6th grade Science & History, & Middle & High School English, Bible, Computer, Speech & Drama.
