My first year of teaching was in an Alternative Education program. It was a self-contained classroom for students with Emotional Disturbances in grades 6-8. I spent the following six years teaching a self-contained Mild/Moderate Science and Social Studies class in grades 6-8. I have been homeschooling my daughter for the last two years (Kindergarten and 1st grade). Prior to teaching, I was an intern at both Big Springs Educational Therapy Center and School, and at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. I was also a substitute teacher in all grades/subjects for 6 years.
My style of teaching is student-centered and tends to be facilitating and/or delegating. My goal in teaching is to support my students, and to build on their strengths and interests.
