Since I was a little girl, I've been on an awesome journey of supporting incredible individuals with disabilities. I rocked babysitting, tutoring, and mentoring during middle and high school, and then earned my super cool undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Rehabilitation with a special focus on Special Education. I totally slayed helping young adults with different abilities conquer their vocational transitions. But guess what? I realized I missed the buzz of the classroom, so I became a co-teacher at an amazing ABA-based school for awesome kids with Autism. I rocked it in 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, and even High School! And you know what? I decided to level up and went to Arizona State University to earn my master's degree in Teaching Special Education. Now, I'm armed with the knowledge and skills to make learning super fun and meaningful for my incredible students!
My teaching style as a special education teacher is all about creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. I strive to adapt my lessons and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of each student, incorporating hands-on activities, visual aids, and multisensory approaches to engage and empower my students. I foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that celebrates each student's progress and promotes their individual strengths, ensuring that every student feels valued and capable of achieving their goals.
In High School, my best buddy and I were chosen as the ultimate buddy pair in all of New York State! It was an incredible honor. On top of that, I had the privilege of being awarded Teacher of the Month among a talented pool of educators in the metro-Phoenix area. I'm proud to say that I graduated with honor distinction in my master's program, rocking a cumulative GPA of 4.33!
