TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a high school teacher with over 12 years experience teaching Life Skills, Culinary Arts, Food and Nutrition, Career Management, and Money Management for grades 6-12 and adults. In addition to teaching high school I am also a private reading comprehension tutor for grades 3-5.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am very a laidback teacher and I like my class to be a comfortable space where kids can feel free to be their true, authentic self. I teach the person first and the content second. I incorporate lots of music into my classroom. Music makes me feel good and I have noticed over the years that it makes my students feel good as well. My goal is to make sure that my students learn and master all content provided to them. Yes, passing a state test is great, but walking away at the end of the semester with knowledge that they did not have at the beginning of the semester is amazing!
