I am a inclusion teacher in kindergarten and first grades - that means that it is my responsibility to give students with extremely diverse abilities the tools that they need to be successful in a class with all of their peers. I have taught pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, third grade, fourth grade, fifth grade, and seventh grade, so the items you will see are from many different grades and can be used in multiple grade levels.
I am a strategy-driven teacher and believe in giving students as many tools as possible to help them be independently successful. I believe in providing these tools at multiple levels so that all students have the materials that meet them at their current level and allow them room to improve their skills.
I have presented at conferences: TASH, Cal-TASH, ASHA. I have mentored numerous fieldwork students and student teachers. One of my literacy lessons was published by the Human Rights Campaign as part of their Welcoming Schools lesson plans.
I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education from American University and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Students with Disabilities from New York University. My undergraduate degree is in Human Development and Education Studies from Brown University.
I have a great deal of expertise in customizing materials for students with special needs. If you need help finding a way for a student to access the general education curriculum or you need activities to help students practice their goals, please contact me. I can customize any material at any grade level to meet your students' needs!
