What educators are saying

My students used this for a performance for our Ks and it turned out so well! I loved how there was a variety of roles with a variety of lines, so all my students, regardless of their reading level could be included. :)
My students absolutely love this. They begged to perform more as well as requested other movies. I hope you consider making more!

Description

Originally part of the December 1998 issue of Scholastic's Storyworks Magazine, this traditional re-telling of the Ebenezer Scrooge story is perfect for Zoomer's theater, podcast, or classroom play--or add holiday hymns and create a full-fledged stage production. For 10 to 16 participants and innumerable extras. A second version from my book, Read Aloud Plays: Classic Short Stories (2010 Scholastic) is also included. In it, Scrooge is a woman, Eleanora Scrooge.

Two comprehension activities are also included, and a FREE Google Form version can be downloaded elsewhere on my storefront.

Use these plays to improve fluency, engage learners, and build comprehension skills. Suitable (but challenging) for grade 3, but otherwise geared to grades 4 through 7. Includes public school performance rights. Be sure also to check out my other classics plays appropriate for the holidays including "Gift of the Magi" and "The Necklace," and my other Dicken's classics, "Gabriel Grub" and "Pip & the Prisoner," all available here on TpT.
