This is a STEM lesson that requires minimal materials. You can buy gum drops and toothpicks at the dollar store. This is also a lesson that can be done with little prep.
In this lesson students are asked to create a tower out of gumdrops and toothpicks. Students are put into groups of 2-4. They are not given any materials until they do the planning and drawing of their tower on paper.
For younger students the lesson can be modified so that they can draw a prototype, but it is not necessary
