TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My first teaching experience was 20+ years of homeschooling my own 10 children. Later, I taught in the public school system for 10 years. I started out in 4th ELA and SS, later I taught 7th and 8th grade math and science. I also have served as an interim teacher for a 5th grade self contained class and 6th grade ELA and SS. I have taught ELA and other subjects on line for over 4 years. Two summers I worked with the Read to be Ready program working with incoming 1st through 3rd graders. I have yet to meet a grade level or subject that I do not like!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love teaching hands on, workbooks, projects, etc.... I just love to teach.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been a level 5 teacher at least once in every subject and across 3 grade levels. I had the second highest math scores in the county in both proficiency and growth. I graduated from Carson Newman University with a Masters in Education and maintained a 4.0 GPA Not only do I love to teach, I love to learn.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I did my elementary and high school years in Interlachen, Florida. My undergraduate and gradute studies were completed at Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, TN.
