Description

Students will love this ZONK review game! The topics covered are a great end of the year or end of unit review for 6th graders, or a beginning of the year review for 7th graders!

This 6th Grade Math Skills Review covers the following topics:

- Multiplying and Dividing Decimals

- Converting between Fractions, Decimals, and Percent

- Finding Percent of a Number

- Write and Simplify Ratios

- Find the Unit Rate

- Solving Proportions

You will be able to use this interactive powerpoint review game as an entire class activity or as a station activity. The students work together in teams to choose a number on the screen. When the button is clicked, most of the time a question will be revealed. However, if there is a ZONK behind that button, then the team will lose their turn. Even worse, if there is a DOUBLE ZONK, the team will lose points! Suspense fills the room as students wait to see which will be revealed. This is a unique and fun way to review with the entire class!

This file is a powerpoint show and is not editable.

Directions:

1. From the home screen, students will choose a number

2. Click on the number and the corresponding slide appears.

3. Students will discuss and share their answer choice with you.

4. Click one more time to reveal the correct answer.

6. Keep score on the board or have students keep score.

7. From the question or zonk slides, click the "Return" button and the next team will take a turn.

8. Have fun!!

Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. For example, “The ratio of wings to beaks in the bird house at the zoo was 2:1, because for every 2 wings there was 1 beak.” “For every vote candidate A received, candidate C received nearly three votes.”
Understand the concept of a unit rate 𝘢/𝘣 associated with a ratio 𝘢:𝘣 with 𝘣 ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. For example, “This recipe has a ratio of 3 cups of flour to 4 cups of sugar, so there is 3/4 cup of flour for each cup of sugar.” “We paid $75 for 15 hamburgers, which is a rate of $5 per hamburger.”
Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations.
