Description

Objectives:

  1. Students will use the plans interpreted from Ms. Ana White and their knowledge of carpentry concepts in order to apply (Tier 4) and execute the construction of a wooden stepping stool.
  2. Students will analyze stepping stool based on Ana White’s original plans and apply their knowledge of carpentry concepts in order to reflect on how they could improve on their projects in the future.

Notes from the Teacher:

  • This is a XTRA simplified version of these plans by the phenomenal Ana White (totally my hero.) Check out her website and her videos-- she's the best. This XTRA simplified version is great for middle school and below students.
  • Highly recommend doing a couple very basic wood shop projects with the students. Practice using the jigsaw, countersink bit, and miter saw before trying this one.
  • Tell the students to check with you first BEFORE they glue anything down-- hard lesson learned year after year. ; )
