What educators are saying

I used this as a demo for a teacher to watch. The kids and I had a great time decorating the mittens and completing the craft. Thanks so much.
My students loved using this resource and they got a lot out of it. I appreciated the ease of using this and it was well put together. Thank you!

Description

This reading response flip book adds a reading response/ writing activity to be used with Jan Brett's The Mitten. This resource for Jan Brett's The Mitten has the option of either a flip book or a mitten-shaped book. Did I mention this is no prep as long as you got Jan Brett's The Mitten handy?

This reading response resource for Jan Brett's The Mitten includes options with the lines and illustration room, so you can find one that works best for your classroom. There are two different lines options. There is an option with the sequential words already on the books and options without the sequential words. I've included a word bank that you can use optionally and some retelling cut-outs that you can also use optionally. I've also included photographed assembly directions.

-About the Page Count-

This resource has a lot of pages because of the options, however, you will not need to print all of them. The flip books run 3 pages long. The mitten-shaped book runs 4 pages long, but if you use the non-sequential options, you could actually make the books bigger if desired. Additionally, you have 1 page for the directions, 1 page for the optional word bank, and 1 page for the optional retelling cut-outs to add to that 3+ page count. This resource is actually 62 pages, but I got you covered with a table of contents and visual instructions on how to select the pages you want to print, so you don't waste printing a single page.
