    Description

Systems can be such a tricky topic for students to nail and become confident in, and this interactive notebook unit kit is built just to address that. Giving students a strong foundation of essential concepts such as what a solution is, looks like, and means; how to check their answers; and how to strategically choose which method will be most efficient, this kit of notes is there to support your students' learning every step of the way.

This interactive notebook kit contains 11 sets of notes and 12 half-sheet warm-ups that can also double as exit slips or mini-quizzes. Having a strong foundation of vocabulary and skills is the best way to make sure your students will find success, and this unit has been designed with that in mind. This interactive notebook kit contains all of the notes and warm-ups you will need to teach your unit on Systems of Equations and Inequalities in Algebra 1 and covers the topics that your students will need to gain a better conceptual understanding. Figuring out how to teach systems and support all of your learners doesn't need to be stressful--this interactive notebook kit has you covered!

All of the resources are designed to fit perfectly in an interactive notebook, which is a great way to promote studying and help your students to stay organized.

Buyer's Note for Elimination Notes (Read Before You Buy): Instead of encouraging students to subtract one equation from another when there are equal variables in both equations, students are encouraged to always create a pair of opposite variables (like 7x and -7x) that can be added together. If there are equal variables across the two equations, students are encouraged to multiply one equation by -1 and then add them together instead of subtracting one equation from the other (this is an equivalent operation, and this approach is similarly used in subtracting polynomials as well as in polynomial division in future classes). I have found that students are far more successful and make fewer mistakes when they multiply by -1 and then add, instead of simply subtracting. All examples are shown in full in the previews for both elimination products. See them here and here.
