Description
Want the ultimate fun way of introducing students to Photopea?
The Food Face (Food Portrait) is a 1 - 1.5 hour self-paced lesson where students learn how to use Selection Tools (Magic Wand, Quick Selection and Object Selection) to remove the background from objects. The Free Transform tool is then used to modify positioning and warp/change perspective if required.
A 7 minute step by step video overview of the Selection Tools and key steps to re-create a Food Portrait are included. This lesson has been delivered numerous times and students are always engaged from 13 year olds up to 17 year olds.
What will students learn?
This project is a great foundation project for beginners that ensures they learn to use Photopea at a sound level, in particular using the Selection tools, understanding tolerance and refining their selection with automatic and manual tools.
What do you get in this project?
•Step by step annotated 7 minute video -- a step-by-step guide is provided to students allowing them to work at their own pace and level. This is a great resource for online learning or for in the classroom freeing up you to spend more time assisting students who may need more assistance. Perfect for differentiation.
•PPT / PDF lesson / presentation with tips and overviews of key tools. This is used to 'teach' students first and overview what the tools are before you move off to the video.
- Several student exemplars are included in the PPT to prompt and inspire students.
Students can individually learn at their own pace in the classroom or via online learning. The lesson takes around 60 minutes to 2 hours depending on the delivery. Extension options and direct teaching from PPT can extend this lesson as needed.
I hope this fun lesson can help engage your students and introduce them to the Selection Tools in Photopea!
