What educators are saying

My students used this in class to help do a quick review of the differences between Locke and Hobbes. Questions were a little above their reading level but good overall.

Description

Thomas Hobbes vs John Locke Primary Source Activity teaches students about their two competing ideas on the state of nature of humans and how they should be governed. This activity begins with a little background information about their observations during revolutionary times in England. Hobbes’ pessimistic arguments on the state of man is told through his writings from the The Leviathan (1651), while Locke’s response comes from his, Second Treatises of Civil Government (1689). This can be used in class or as homework as it’s a completely stand alone assignment.
