I’m a huge fan of literacy-based therapy, and classic books are my favorite! This resource is part of my mini book companions for classics product line. The Snowy Day is one that I love to pull out during the winter or anytime!
This companion pack contains visual sentence strips to use alongside the book and comes in both color and black and white. It also contains worksheets that target sequencing, WH questions, spatial concepts, categories vocabulary, describing, following directions, and articulation. There are a few open-ended activities as well.
Printable Contents:
p.6-7 Blank scene and props: Cut out props and use with blank scene – great for retelling, positional concepts, following directions, vocabulary, and more.
p. 8-12 Tiny sentence strip visuals: Visual strips of the story to attach to the book or use alongside the book
p. 13 Story retell: Use the pictures to help you retell the story
p. 14-15 Sequencing: Cut out pictures and glue to the appropriate number on the following page
p. 16-17 WH questions: Level 1- Mark the correct answer using the visual answer choices. Level 2- Orally respond to the question
p. 18-20 Vocabulary: Name the nouns, verbs, adjectives
p. 21-22 Describing: Describe by writing descriptions in the circles. Blank page to use with any vocabulary card from page 18
p. 23-24 Spatial concepts - Mark the correct answer using the visual answer choices. Draw a snowball where the directions tell you.
p. 25 Categories: Draw items from the category inside the boxes.
p. 26 Following directions: Listen and color the correct picture.
