Description

"ANZAC Billy" by Australian author, Claire Saxby, is a story about a little boy who packs special items in a billy over the course of a week for his father who is away at war. A copy of the picture book would be useful to make the best use of this resource.

This resource includes classroom display templates for ANZAC Day based on the story, including images of a billy and the contents that the boy in the story added to the billy to send to his father who is overseas during the war. The display templates are original and a new addition to the suite of ANZAC resources in my store.

Other tasks in this resource include:

  • Summarising the main events in the story - beginning, middle and end.
  • Cut-and-paste sequencing activity matching the days of the week to the items added to the billy each day.
  • Open-ended interactive notebook template
  • Solving a multiplication problem based on events in the book
  • Bonus Ode poster and student bookmarks.

This resource utilises custom graphics and as such the previews are intentionally blurred.
