Description

Teach Kids About Africa – Let's Chant 'Keenene'” is a world music lesson about Africa for kids that uses a simple sing-along and hand play to introduce them to African food and culture. “Keenene” is a chant from Uganda that encourages kids to DEMAND DINNER, introducing them to a diversity of foods along the way. In our version we introduce Ugandan foods like matoke and posho, though teachers can use the song to meet the foods of any nation. The original song is in Luganda, though we also chant in English.

All Around This World is an only-of-its-kind global music and world cultures program that introduces kids (0-9) and their grown-ups to the world using enlivening international rhythms and movement. Visit the All Around This World website to learn about our extenstive interactive curriculum that consists of over 300 participatory songs and cultural experiences that originate from over 100 countries and our "musical pen pal" program that can connect your classroom with kids on another continent.
