What educators are saying

This was a huge help as I start a school newspaper with my school. The editable permission slips were a lifesaver!

Description

Starting your own school newspaper isn't difficult. I've run (and created) our school newspaper for three years. This document has most of the materials you'll need for set-up. The newspaper club in my school was open to fifth grade students and printed copies were distributed in the school to faulty, staff, classroom libraries, school common areas, and to the newspaper club members. Our newspaper is usually 12 pages long and we use Microsoft Publisher to create it.

****If the file shows the "mark up" (all the editing in the side bar), please click on the "review tab" and then "final mark up". I don't know how to shut this feature off and it comes on periodically.*****

If you experience any difficulties with the document after purchase, please contact me and I can send you a PDF of the info/pages.

This document contains reproducibles to keep you and the club running smoothly: permission form, first meeting reminder page, sample assignment task sheet, several pages of jobs/job descriptions to be cut apart and given to the children (with suggested amounts of people for each job), directions on saving/emailing work to keep everyone consistent, fill-in-the-blank timeline for the children, "missing article" notice, interview notice, classroom news sheets to be filled out by classroom teachers, and two blank charts to organize jobs and information.

All the "blanks" in the document are for you to fill in your name/newspaper name/and dates. Feel free to edit as you see fit but I've found these procedures and documents to be most helpful as they are now.

You'll find duplicates of some pages because some pages refer to assignments being done in Microsoft word and there will be a duplicate referring to Google Drive/Docs (if your district uses that instead).

Your students will really enjoy this! There is a "job" for all ability levels.
