Description

St. Patrick’s Day Math Games Free

This is a set of 6 FREE math games with a St. Patrick’s Day Theme. ! I think they will challenge your students while reinforcing important mathematical and thinking skills. These games are geared toward 2nd and 3rd graders. They address addition and subtraction, place value, and multiplication.

In this packet you will find the following 6 games:

Race for the Pot of Gold: Place Value Players roll 3 dice and try to create the largest possible number. The player with the largest number spins the spinner and moves forward that number of spaces. The first player to reach the pot of gold is the winner.

Shamrock Love = Doubles + 1: spin a spinner, double the number and add 1. Cover the number on your side of the board. The first one to get all 10 wins.

Keep Your Hands Off My Gold!: Played like bump. The players roll two dice and either subtract or add the total of the dice from 17.

Hats Off to You: Another bump game, but this time with problems that involve two operations: multiplication and addition, or multiplication and subtraction for problems equaling 17. Players spin a spinner and find the hat with a missing factor equaling the number spun.

Roll and Cover 5 in a Row: Players roll a pair of dice and cover a product of the two numbers or a factor of the product. Involves some logic because the player must look at his/her markers on the board to decide if it is more advantageous to cover the product or a factor. The first player to cover 5 spaces in a row either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally wins.

Lucky Coins Crisscross: Players roll 2 dice and create problems in which the numbers rolled can be added or subtracted. Involves some logic as players must decide which operation would result in the most advantageous play.
