Description
Aligned to TEKS 7.13(E) calculate and compare simple interest and compound interest earnings CCSS.7.RP.A.3
Your students are ready for this STEM challenge! First, they search the internet for a vehicle they wish to "purchase." Then they use the question prompts to record the make, model and purchase price. They choose a financing option from the table and use their purchase price to calculate tax, interest and monthly payment. Last, students use all of these calculations to design a poster to illustrate their financial investment. Includes an easy to use yes/no rubric to outline grading criteria and a detailed example poster aligned with all grading criteria.
This works well as an activity or project after these Simple Interest notes.
