- Robot games - A variety of games are included in remote control mode, which allows kids to use the robots in driving mode but in a guided way. This is a great option to use at a class party or as a reward for a job well done on the coding challenges! (12+ pages, includes printables)
Which Robots Can I Use with This Resource?
While some of the activities can be completed with very simple robots such as code-and-go mouse, many of them require more sophisticated programming (as well as remote control access for all of the games). For this reason, I recommend robots such as (but not limited to):
- Dash or Cue from Wonder Workshop
- Sphero SPRK+, Sphero Bolt, or Sphero Mini
- Ozobot EVO or Bit (with Blockly, not with coloring)
- Finch
- Other programmable robots kits, such as EV3/Spike Prime or VEX-IQ
When to Use These Activities
- Hour of Code
- STEM Fridays, Maker Mondays, STEM Family Night
- After school STEM and robotics clubs. These tasks can be completed independently or in small groups. If you are hosting a robotics team, these activities can be used for students to practice programming or can be used as team builders.
