Revolution Primary Source Timeline Activity
- Google Drive™ folder
Description
In this activity, students will read an excerpt from one primary source that was instrumental in the history of the American Revolution. The intent of the activity is to give students a quick overview of how different people and events throughout time ultimately led to American colonists declaring independence and becoming a new nation. There are 29 primary sources so that each student has the opportunity to analyze their own document. Then, as a class, students will create a timeline of these primary sources. Each student should summarize their document for their classmates on the timeline. After the activity, students should be able to recognize how this timeline of events led to the Revolution. This is a great way to end the unit and review all the information before an assessment.
