Description

Ratios and proportions practice is more engaging with color by number activities. These math coloring sheets and digital color by number are much more fun than regular ratios worksheets (but still very academic!).

  • These color by number math worksheets are self-checking - if the answer isn't on the sheets, students know they need to rework the problems.
  • Coloring helps bring mindfulness, wellness, and quietness to middle school math classes, all while practicing important math concepts.
  • AND coloring in math has been shown to help reluctant students feel more comfortable with math!

These ratios, proportions, and unit rates problems require students to:

  • Find equivalent ratios
  • Find unit rates
  • Find missing values in proportions
  • Solve word problems

In this easy-prep ratios and proportions 6th grade math resource, you’ll find:

1) Three print versions – A, B, and C. The version for each page is labeled in the upper left-hand corner.

  • Versions A and B have the SAME 20 problems, but different colors are used, so each version has its own problem page and coloring page.
  • Version C has 15 problems and a less complex coloring sheet. (The types of problems are the same as A and B, but they use different numbers)

2) Link to one digital version in Google Slides.

  • Same as the print Version C – same problems and mostly the same coloring.

3) Two coloring pages with no numbers, for students to color their own way.

What teachers are saying about these ratios and proportions worksheets and digital resource:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"Such a fun resource to add in to daily math practice. My students enjoyed being able to solve the questions and be creative at the same time. Having a built in answer key made it possible for the students to check their own work and take ownership of any mistakes they may have made. As an added bonus, it decorated our classroom nicely with a pop of color!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"This was a nice activity for my students! Perfect to do when I needed a substitute in the class and did not want to give the students busy work. I would highly recommend this as a review!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"My students enjoyed developing their understanding of ratios with this fun coloring activity. This resource was easy to use and explain so that my students understood it."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"I've used these two years in a row and my students love them! I love that it comes with two different versions so I can easily accommodate for my resource students too!"

Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to describe a ratio relationship between two quantities. For example, “The ratio of wings to beaks in the bird house at the zoo was 2:1, because for every 2 wings there was 1 beak.” “For every vote candidate A received, candidate C received nearly three votes.”
Understand the concept of a unit rate 𝘢/𝘣 associated with a ratio 𝘢:𝘣 with 𝘣 ≠ 0, and use rate language in the context of a ratio relationship. For example, “This recipe has a ratio of 3 cups of flour to 4 cups of sugar, so there is 3/4 cup of flour for each cup of sugar.” “We paid $75 for 15 hamburgers, which is a rate of $5 per hamburger.”
