Psychology Research - Survey Writing, Data Collection, Correlation Graphing
- Zip

Description
I teach Dual Enrollment Psychology 101. There's no better way to understand Psychology Research Methods than to conduct your own research. This project requires students to come up with a research question, guided survey questions, collect data, chart and graph that data, recognize correlation, then reflect on their results.
While this project is designed to be used in Psychology, I supply you with DOCX files so that you can change the directions to suit ANY SUBJECT! For example, I was required to conduct and graph a survey in my Computer Science class as a lesson on creating spreadsheets.
The project can be completed entirely digitally, or students can print out surveys to hand out to their peers to complete. I kind of like making them have the full survey experience, but you can let them use virtual methods of conducting their surveys.
For one class I explain the entire project then have my students come up with their research questions during that period. Then they have around 10 days to complete the project outside of class. I recommend doing this project with college-focused or accelerated 9-12th grade classes.
Included are:
- 6 page student template with all of the directions (DOCX and PDF)
- 6 page completed sample survey to show students what the finished product should look like (DOCX and PDF)
- Spreadsheet with pre-made charts for making graphs (XLSX)
- Project Rubric
