This printable document contains all lesson plans for a Bird Habitat Thematic Unit. The focus of this unit is on where birds live around the world. This learning unit is intended for preschool kids but can be enjoyed by any kids still working on the fundamentals. It includes printable worksheets for reading and other English Language arts standards and integrates science biology and other subjects into the theme.

This lesson includes an easy-to-read text about different bird habitats with real photos and vocabulary including forest, arctic, jungle, savanna, city, and desert. There are vocabulary cards with helpful photos and definitions. Included is a bid sort where students can practice cutting and sorting where the birds live. Practice colors by coloring some birds. Sing a song about ducks or read it as a poem. Students can work on understanding the use of a grid by drawing an owl. There is an owl coloring page for early finishers.

This unit is helpful for teaching preschool and elementary students. This unit is best for toddlers, preschoolers, homeschool, kindergarten KG, first 1st, or second 2nd. However, some of this unit could also be helpful for ELL or ESL learners of any grade who are just coming to grasp the language and would like an easy-to-read text with simple vocabulary.
