Skills Included: estimation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, budgeting, division, determining unit cost, utilizing real life materials (grocery ads), decimals as money, explaining math reasoning, problem solving, and art!
For Students:
Your job is to plan a Thanksgiving meal for eight people. Use the grocery store ads to plan and budget for your meal. You must keep your meal within a $75.00 budget. You are estimating your cost before you go to the store. You will need to find all of the required foods in the grocery store ads and round the amount that item costs to the nearest dollar (for example if an item costs $3.87, make it $4. If an item costs $3.42, make it $3).
