What educators are saying

I love these sliders! I made a class set and laminated. These were a great addition to our classroom!
My students enjoyed this hands on activity. This was much better than just moving the decimal place. We had some great math talk using this resource. Thank you!

Description

Now includes Ones to Millions for the younger grades

All aboard the beginning of the year struggle bus!

Every year, my students struggle with Multiplying and Dividing by Powers of 10. So, I've created this Interactive Place Value Chart. It allows students to really see the movement of each digit across the place value chart.

This product does take some prep time, but I promise it's worth it. I print them on cardstock and laminate the strips so that students can reuse the sliders throughout the year. The Interactive Place Value Chart is great for working in whole group, small group, or independently. It is also great for use at home and for studying.

I also found that for those students that are still struggling with whole number place value, this Place Value slider was a great visual reminder for them.

Here's what people are saying:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a fabulous resource - it helped clearly demonstrate how numbers move places when multiplying and dividing my powers of 10. The students love the hands on component and I loved the arrows with the symbol option - overall fantastic resource which I will be using every year from now on!

Use as extra support with Multiply and Divide Decimals by Powers of 10 Worksheets.

Multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10–90 (e.g., 9 × 80, 5 × 60) using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
