Description

Do you read the reviews before you buy a product? Almost all of us do, and your students will become pros at this aspect of writing that blends expository and persuasive writing. This is such a fun activity for teaching writing.

There are two activities included. First, students will share three of their favorite products. Using a graphic organizer, they'll plan what they want to say about it. Then, in groups of three, they'll share their favorite products. They'll try to persuade the group members to buy their product.

Then, they'll plan and write a product review about one of their three products. Your students will give this lesson five stars - highly recommend!

Students will work individually and in small groups, adding to the engagement. Seriously, this is one I usually join in on because it's just so fun.

Friends, it can hardly get more low-prep than this or more fun. It's also very real-world, which is perfect for adding to writing engagement.

Teacher Tip: The activity where students are sharing their fave products and trying to convince their group makes an excellent lesson for your administrators to see.
