Description
Looking for a fun way to practice persuasive writing? This activity set has everything you need for a terrific persuasive writing experience for your students. They'll create a creature and then persuade their families why they need to keep it as their new pet! How fun! I made it just for those reluctant writers, with a small group game, loads of graphic organizers, and clear instructions so they can all be successful writers. They will sketch out their creature as well, appealing to those students who can't get enough drawing.
Already have advanced writers? Have gifted kids? No problem! I've got an optional writing activity just for them that you can use to replace the persuasive writing opportunity. They'll respond to a narrative writing prompt that will have their creative juices flowing. Of course, you're welcome to use the activity with the whole class.
Even though there's a game component, the activities are surprisingly low-prep for how engaging and interactive they are. Simply print, cut, and go! You'll get teacher instructions, classroom procedures, and rubrics. The teacher directions are so detailed! You will have very clear, step-by-step instructions for what to do to teach the activity.
